Releasing the Energy of the Whole People of God - following on

"Bishop Mike started by telling about a conversation he had on a bus recently, where a person explained why she no longer goes to church. He spoke especially about her rejection of the authority of the church. But God loves the world and calls us to reflect that love by the way we act. The energy of the people of God needs to be released to impact the world around, rather than just benefit the church."

"We need to be more connected to the world in which we find themselves. We need to move outside the Christian community and to get involved in the world."

"Yet there are huge pressures to run churches successfully, which leave people with little energy to be outward looking."

Inter-religion camp for kids in Palestine

Human Supporters Organisation based in Palestine is running an inter-religion camp this summer for Christian, Muslim and Samaritan children to learn about each others' faiths and have fun together. This is a crucial part of uniting Palestine both now and in the future, to see the end to violence.

They need volunteers and any level of sponsorship from supporter groups to be able to run the camp.

RENOVARE DAY @ Trinity College 30/5/2009

On the Renovare Day, 30th May, 10am-4.30, at Trinity College, Bristol, James Catford, Chief Executive Officer of the Bible Society, and Joe Davies a church pastor, will help us explore 6 different traditions, based on Richard Foster's 'Stream of Living Waters': Contemplative, Holiness, Charismatic, Social Justice, Evangelical, Sacramental - and some of the spiritual disciplines connected with them - along with how we might integrate them into our own spiritual lives, with the support and accountability found in a small Spiritual Formation group.

Many have found Renovare has given fresh impetus to their spiritual lives and deeply enriched their relationship with Jesus.

The day will cost £9. Lunch can also be provided for an additional £6. For further enquiries or to book a place, contact Cathy Brodie: cathy@christchurchclifton.org.uk. Tel 0117 973 5189
